Welcome to Seaview Hall Seaview Hall was built in 1902 as a boarding house/lodge for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of the gold rush chaos that had consumed Seattle. It is constructed of logs, salvaged from the beach and mounted vertically unlike the other two remaining log houses in West Seattle (the Homestead restaurant and the Log House Museum) which are constructed of horizontal logs. The recently completed eighteen month restoration project has produced a very unique property. Seaview hall is a mixture of history and twenty first century technology. It features the original cool box but boasts a state of the art kitchen and cat 5 wiring for the electronic home. Two open fire places plus a nine zone hydronic heating system (radiant floors, hydronic radiators and all 4 towel rails). Six restored windows and 18 original restored doors complete with old wavy glass, refinished 100 year old fir floors and two amazing stair cases featuring drift wood banister rails. 9½' high original open beam ceilings give the first and second floors a grand old world feel. The large windows and 10' ceilings featured in the third floor office and master bedroom frame the view of the Olympic mountains perfectly. The bathrooms feature one monsoon 8 head shower, 2 three-head spa showers and one jetted bath in an art deco barrel ceiling recess. Seaview Hall was restored to provide a rare experience - modern living in an historic surrounding and is due to come to market in January 2007. |
